Hi, DU is moving to far to the RW in my view. I don't like the name calling. I like to debate issues without getting into putting people down. Debating is not about trashing other people. It is about discussing issues and hoping to persuade others toward one's POV.

The two party system sucks.

Cheers all. Agreed ...DU has devolved into a put down fest of insults.

Make me another to not post quite so much as I did at DU. Frankly, I am tired of Mrs. Clinton as God's anointed, of having people trying to triangulate ME and having to read a parsed statement of what so-and-so "really said" when I read English fairly well, you know with that research and professional grad school degrees and all . . .

It is as if no one gets why the Motionless Middle is funny (obvious hommage to Bayh's Loony Left), but I find that straddling a fence can be injurious to one's health and in the middle of the road is about the most dangerous place to be, what with traffic whizzing by one in both directions. . .

Welcome L0oniX & Bamanista!!

And to all the escapees!! http://smileyjungle.com/smilies/greetings10.gif

I logged in there today and yep! The HRC crap was in full swing, so
I turned on the TV and guess who was being welcomed onto a talk show?

You guessed it! And the first words out of her mouth after the greets was;
"When I'm Prez; I'll begin a slow withdrawal out of Iraq. Orderly and carefully."

Hi folks,

I was "mberst" at the Kucinich forum, Dean forum, Clark forum and also at DU before the last presidential election. I was the admin at the Clark board, and a mod at the Kucinich board.

I was banned from DU, a long with at least a couple of dozen of others - the very best DU members at that time - in what was called the "Saturday Night Massacre" the weekend after the election. We were all questioning the validity of the election results and Kerry's failure to fight the theft. No one was ever given a reason, nor had any of us violated any rules. The banishments go on to this day, and are done so smoothly that the admins manage to keep the members unaware of it. I had over 10,000 posts there. I have refused to attempt being reinstated there, and always will.

Good to be here, and I am looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Mike

Hi Mike;

I was a mod at another "malloy' type progressive board but
then there was a mutiny and then us mutineers started our
(my) own board but it was small and after awhile,(7 months)
interest wained and I was alone there. I still have the board
but no traffic. Although, I did password protect all the forums.
I was pissed off! LOL!

'Board purges' happen a lot!! I was a hot and heavy poster
at Randi Rhodes for over a year but Libertas banned me for
reasons unknown. I guess I hung with the wrong crowd.

Oh well, life moves on but maybe this place will be the ticket,
ya know?

Altogether, I probably have 100,000+ posts on 3 boards.

I have almost 12,000 at DU now. Weird.

LMAO!

How can some one get a post count, that high, by replying
"FUCK YOU, the DLC sucks!!" that many times??

Hello,  I'm happy to see there's an unabashed liberal haven.  I would not have know about this place had I not read someone's sig line at DU.  Thank-you for establishing this forum.

.

I created this forum about a week ago. I just got banned from DU on Sunday night. I hope you can send private messages to as many liberals and progressives at DU inviting them here.

ShortnFiery!

What a pleasant surprise. I don't think we have "met" online, but I have admired your posts at DU for quite a while. Welcome.

Another DU refugee fleeing the HRC steamroller.smile/hide.gif

Was DKRC there. Not banned, yet, but only because I ignored all the threads I could about her. But lately there seems to be 20 HRC threads to each thread of importance about any other subject in the world. It's not like there are wars, fires, refugees, sick kids, -- the list goes on and on - yet HRC is front & center 24/7.

So grateful to have a progressive site to come to now.

Yes, the DU is beginning to degenerate.

And I see all the young believers
Your target audience
I see all the old deceivers
